Working together for every child

Ms Rohmann

  • School social work

School social work is as varied and colourful as our whole school and the Kronsberg neighbourhood. It forms part of the wide-ranging cooperation within our multiprofessional team of teachers, educational staff in lessons and all-day care, special education teachers and school support professionals. For the benefit of children and families, we work hand in hand, particularly on social and educational matters, to give children and families in our neighbourhood the most equal start possible.

Our school social worker, Ms Rohmann, offers a weekly consultation for parents. She uses a systemic approach to explore questions and possible solutions together with you. The focus is on personal empowerment and improving the family’s living situation. We can discuss family life in Germany, particularly raising children, media use, school problems, concerns about children’s healthy development or acute crises such as separation or divorce. If needed, you can ask for information about further counselling services, therapists and doctors. Please come to a consultation if you are looking for solutions and advice: Mondays from 14:30 to 16:30, or by appointment. All counselling is subject to the statutory duty of confidentiality. Contact me on 0511 168-34329 or at ursroh@161.schulen-hannover.de.

Another important part of school social work is providing social learning activities within class groups. We specifically develop social skills through discussions, role play, perception and trust exercises, cooperative tasks, confidence-building exercises, feedback and agreed goals.
